Imagine an outdoor space that adapts to what you want and that you can enjoy all year round. Stop dreaming and make it happen with our retractable and fixed roofs.

Retractable and fixed roofs

Terrace roofs made to measure

A terrace roof lets you choose what you want at any moment. With a retractable roof you open up to enjoy the fresh air on summer nights and close it when the rain or the levante arrives; with a fixed roof you have permanent cover from rain and wind. We make them to measure in aluminium, with glass, polycarbonate or sandwich-panel roofing.

If you also enclose the sides with glass curtains, the terrace becomes an extra room in your home or an outdoor dining area for your business that you can use all year round. We install terrace roofs in El Puerto de Santa María, Jerez, Cádiz and the rest of the province.

Retractable roofs

A retractable roof opens and closes over your terrace by sliding its panels, so you can have open sky or a roof depending on the day. It keeps the heat off in summer, keeps things warm in winter and can be fitted with a motor, LED lighting and automation.

Fixed roofs

A fixed aluminium roof covers your terrace or porch permanently and protects it from wind, rain and hail. With glass or polycarbonate roofing it lets natural light through, improves thermal and acoustic insulation and is more affordable than a retractable roof.

Your questions answered

What is the difference between a retractable and a fixed terrace roof?

A retractable roof opens and closes by sliding its panels, so you can have open sky or a covered terrace depending on the day, whereas a fixed roof gives permanent cover and is more affordable. The retractable roof is ideal if you want fresh air on summer nights and shelter when it rains; the fixed roof gives lasting protection from wind, rain and hail without giving up natural light. They are made with aluminium profiles in any RAL colour and glass, polycarbonate or sandwich-panel roofing, with optional LED lighting and automation.

Can a terrace roof withstand rain and the levante wind?

Yes, a terrace roof is watertight and channels rainwater through the structure itself, and fixed roofs keep out wind, rain and hail. With a retractable roof you can also close it when the levante or the rain arrives and open it on summer nights. For terraces very exposed to the levante in Cádiz, the most robust combination is a sturdy roof above and glass curtains across the front. Can I turn my terrace into an extra room with a roof and glass curtains?

Yes, combining a retractable or fixed roof with glass curtains around the edge is the closest you can get to gaining a room: the terrace becomes an extra room in your home, or an outdoor dining area for your business, open twelve months a year. The roof protects from sun and rain, and the glass curtains close off the sides against the wind without blocking the view. It can also be done in stages, first the roof and then the side enclosure, as long as the original design allows for it.

Can I fit a solar roof on my terrace that generates electricity?

Yes, a photovoltaic glass roof has solar cells built into the glass itself, so the same roof that shades your terrace generates electricity. It is a semi-transparent glass that lets filtered light through and keeps the rain off, with no extra panels on the roof, and the energy is used for self-consumption in your home or business. It works best with a good orientation and can also be built into pergolas and carports. More information on photovoltaic glass roofs (in Spanish).
